About Our School
Since 1996, Steppin Out Dance Studio has been proudly providing dance classes to children of all ages in the Monroe, Pella, Grinnell, Prairie City, Otley, Knoxville, Reasnor, Sully, Lynnville, and Newton areas.

As a parent, we realize you have a choice between several different dance schools. Not all studios are the same. We constantly strive to provide our students and parents with the best experience possible. We offer a wide variety of dance styles to choose from, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, pointe, lyrical, jazz-pom, clogging, drill team prep, acrobatic dance, and tumbling. You can also join our award winning competition team.

To provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy dance for a lifetime.

Monthly Newsletter - February 2010

RECITAL FEE: The $40 recital fee per family is due at this time.
COSTUME BALANCES: Costume Balances are due by February 15th. A paid costume deposit means you are planning to be in the Spring Recital and are obligated to pay the balance of the costume.
WEATHER: Because of the wonderful weather - we have missed some classes the past month or so and will be sending out a make-up schedule as soon as we can. Please be patient as we only have so many weekends to work with and will do our best to get them made up as soon as possible. Please remember that if school is cancelled or let out early due to Bad winter weather then we will NOT hold classes. We will still have class on the in service days. Please note that each location will follow the school in the town in which the studio is located.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
  • APRIL 23RD & 24TH - DANCE PICTURES - Designer Images in Pella - A schedule will be sent out - please notify me of any conflicts ahead of time so we can do our best to work with you.
  • JUNE 1ST - DRESS REHEARSAL - This is a mandatory dress rehearsal at the Pella Christian High School - A schedule will be sent out with times for your groups. Watch for recital note soon!
  • JUNE 5TH - RECITAL - 1:00 PM - PELLA CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL
STEPPIN OUT COMPETITION TEAM - We will be competing Feb. 7th in Oskaloosa with solo's and duets and again Feb. 26th & 27th with groups, solo's and duets in Des Moines. Please come and cheer us on!!!!! No admission fee.
*STEPPIN OUT FUN*: Starting in February dancers have a chance to guess the candy in the jar again. Lets see who is the winner this time?? Winners will receive the jar of goodies.
*COSTUME DESIGN WINNERS ARE*: Makayla Thompson, Kate Furr, & Lily Roozeboom. for the 9 - & up. Harleigh Walkup, Kadence Jaworski, & Jalyne Riggen for the 3 - 8 yr. Other top designs are Ellie Rohr, Megan Buyert, & Alexis VanUtrecht. Emma Anderson, Mackenzie Meyer, Caitlyn Fank, Grace Heap, Harley Atchison, & Isabelle Hall. The top 3 winners will be receiving a T-shirt and all other designs will receive a special prize as well. Thank you for participating your creativity is incredible. You may pick up your picture at the studio if you would like to take it home.
